Our INSPAration
We believe that the art and magic of photography can inspire schools, students, and their families to become the very best version of themselves. In nurturing every child’s right to discover, participate in and love life, INSPA aims to build a future generation of people who are confident, resilient, connected, kind and ready.
The world is a rapidly changing place and children need the right support and tools to prepare for their daily challenges and to develop the resilience to shape the best future for themselves. In the past, our society and many schools have focused almost entirely on academic attainment and grading, largely ignoring more wholesome approaches to life skills, creativity, and well-being.
Our Mission
To introduce ‘Creative Well-being’ into the lives of primary schools and their communities by engaging with the magic and art of photography. To facilitate this, we collaborate with Families and Primary Schools in nurturing a wholesome approach to childhood imagination, resilience, and creativity.
Our Academy
The INSPA Academy is our online education network, connecting schools, educators, and creative families. For Primary Schools, it offers a secure and private platform, enabling staff to highlight and share their Positive Primary Journey as they prepare to enter our national awards. Your school staff will be able to upload their classroom activities, share ideas and engage with what other schools are doing on their journey. You will also be able to access our free and easy-to-follow Creative Well-being Activities. These will help you integrate the camera into your school-day and provide a framework to explore your curriculum with a wholesome approach to creative well-being.
To begin your #PositivePrimaries journey or sample our free Creative Well-being Activities, register your school account for the INSPA’s.
For families and creatives at home, the INSPA Academy will connect you with our Role-Models who will support you on your individual journey. Our Role-Models facilitate this through participation with our online camps and courses.
Our Awards
The INSPA’s are having a massive impact in classrooms and homes across Ireland as they provide an inclusive model for children of all backgrounds and abilities to participate. They also provide a creative tool to aid schools and families to open discussion around subjects which can often be difficult to discuss.
INSPA – Ireland's National School Photography Awards is a nationwide, children’s photography competition and creative well-being initiative, currently open to primary schools in the Republic of Ireland. It rewards schools for implementing our creative well-being approaches across their curriculum. It also gives Ireland's young people the unique opportunity to develop new and creative life-skills alongside a platform to showcase their individual talents.
